CanSat 2017 - JELLY

JELLY (Joint Engineers for Light-weight, Light-powered, flYers) was SDSL’s submission to the 2017 CanSat Competition, organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). This year’s mission was to create a solar powered glider which would deploy from a rocket and fly to the ground in a circular pattern while transmitting telemetry data to a ground station. The team conducted both rocket and quadcopter tests before going to Texas for competition. Team JELLY placed 3rd, SDSL’s best ever showing in the CanSat competition.
